Car Vacuum

As a product designer we could be asked to redevelop products around existing, proven technology. This means as a designer our role is to envisage, design and develop a new enclosure for the internal components. This is exactly what we need to do for one of the design projects that we are doing in the first term of uni. Our brief is to design a car vacuum, at first I had no idea where to start but reading the information it is a redesign of what already exists and therefore I can take inspiration from what we can already buy taking pros and cons from user interaction.

I cannot wait to get some interesting ideas once I have done some research into what is best for the shape and style. This I will do from watching different people using an existing car vacuum.

Most car vacuums are very similar in shape and so I want my design to be unique but still take the most important aspects of a car vac in mind, such as:

lightweight

comfortable to hold

read into the small spaces

easy to empty

angled so strain isn't put on wrist
