Ashida Kenichiro

Ashida is the reason we can spend time using the Nintendo Wii, he came up with the original design and creation of the Wii controllers. This product truly changed the way that we interact with virtual games in rel space and time.

The Wii for me represents a bold new direction for the company, the other products by Nintendo were very much handheld products but they took on the integration of motion-sensitive controllers and a more modest technological improvement. I think that as a design company they took a gamble with the design on the Wii but it definitely paid off. The Wii will always be a big part of my childhood.

The simplicity of the shape makes the product so eye-catching, to me it looks very architectural in the form. The white gloss appearance makes the product so stunning and you know that it is of high quality.
