Pyrography

For a friend of my sister I said I would make some horse name plaques for her to have at the stables. She gave me some pictures of ones she had seen that she liked and I used these as inspiration to design my own.

After printing off the names of the horses, I worked out the sizes of wood I needed and went into a local shop to source the wood. I got six pieces of ash all cut to size and then using the printed names as a template I wrote the names in the center of each piece.

I had got myself a pyrography wood burning pen which I had never used before and so before messing up on the pieces, I used the off cuts to practice making sure I could control the pen and it gave the appearance that both I and my client wanted.
