Groundbreaking research from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Microsoft has created temporary tattoos capable of controlling music, changing color based on your mood and even sending information to other people.

By using gold leaf, researchers were able to create cheap circuits that can be designed to look like fancy jewelry and even including LED lights. The tattoos can be applied just like regular temporary tattoos — with a water-logged sponge and a little patience.By using gold leaf, researchers were able to create cheap circuits that can be designed to look like fancy jewelry and even including LED lights. The tattoos themselves become devices that can be swiped, tapped or read by a near field communication reader, meaning you will be able to control a phone, pause or go to the next song. The state-of-the-art body art may also be able to respond to a change in body temperature using color-changing technology, meaning a couple with matching tattoos would be able to turn one red when a person is angry, according to the research paper released by Kao and her team.

For me it was so interesting to see the things people can do with the technology that is being developed. If these things can respond to temperature, there are a lot of things there kind of the products could be useful for. The medial implications that this kind of thing could do with some designing could have a major impact on peoples lives.
