Model Making

To show the form I want my light to take I created a small simple model from paper so that I could easily portray my idea visually. Below are images showing the model and the seperate parts it would have:




From this model I then developed another three quickly so that I could get an idea of sizes and see which ones looked the best proportionally and aesthetically. Below are images of these models:


From my models I spoke to a few people and we decided that the third one was definitely too big, the lamp itself looks good but for the bung it would be too large for a child's hand.
Then between the other two we thought that the middle one was probably roughly the best size for a lamp as well as the bung piece being suitable for a child to squeeze in their hand comfortably.
From this I will create an appearance model which will be shaped on the lathe, this will show the aesthetic appearance that the real lamp would create.
